[[Excretory System|Excretory System]]
Excretory System Function:To maintain homeostasis by regulating the chemical compostition of body fluids, removing metabolic wastes, and retaining proper amounts of water, salts, and nutrients

How It Works
    • The kidneys filter waste-filled blood.
    • The unpurified blood flows into the kidneys throught the renal artery and the kidney removes urea, excess water, and other waste products (filtration) and passes it all to the ureter.
    • Important substances diffuse back into the blood (reabsorption). The clean blood goes back into circulation.
    • The ureter is a tube leading from the kidney to the urinary bladder.
    • It carries the wastes products, urine, to the bladder.
    • The urinary bladder stores the urine before the urine is excreted.
    • Urine leaves the body through a tube called the urethra.
