Ovaries: Oval or almond shaped glands which lie on either side of the uterus and just below the opening to the fallopian tubes. Produces female sex hormones estrogen and progesterone. The ovaries produce and store female sex cells. Courtesy of

Uterus: A hollow muscular organ in which a fertilized egg is nourished and allowed to develep until birth. Courtesy of

Cervix: Is the lower one third of the uterus and extends downward into the upper portion of the vagina. Courtesy of

Vagina: Muscular passage which is part of the female sex organs which connects the cervix to the external genitals. The three function are as an hole for the penis during intercourse, as an opening for blood during menstruation, and as an exit for the baby to pass through during birth. Courtesy of
